The beauty of live edge furniture begins with the wood itself. At Iron Eagle Woodworks, we work with a variety of premium hardwoods, including walnut, white oak, red oak, maple, cherry, hickory, elm, and other carefully selected species, each offering its own distinctive grain patterns, colors, and character.
Many of our slabs are sourced from sustainably harvested trees, reclaimed timber, local sawmills, and trees removed due to storms, development, or natural aging. Rather than allowing these remarkable trees to be discarded, they are given a second life as functional works of art.
Once acquired, each slab undergoes a lengthy drying and stabilization process to ensure lasting durability and performance. The natural knots, grain variations, live edges, and unique imperfections found in every piece are preserved whenever possible, creating furniture that reflects the story and history of the tree from which it came.
